Based in Nashville, TN, Paul Hinman is engaged in the practice of entertainment and transactional business law.
Paul graduated from Belmont University in 2005 with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Music Business. There he was on the Dean's List, as well as a Belmont Scholar with the Honors Program. He wrote his undergraduate thesis Marketing in Today's Musical Climate, a study of the perceptions changes of Digital Distribution within the Nashville Music Industry. Paul was also among the first participants of the Belmont East program, spending a semester in New York, where he held internships with mtvU, and Insound.
Following his undergraduate degree, Paul worked in General Licensing at ASCAP, where he initiated a new role investigating new licensing opportunities in support of Licensing Managers nationwide.
In 2005, Paul was principally involved in the creation of Buddytown.org, an invite-only social network. While primarily responsible for managing the marketing and business efforts of the venture, Buddytown far outpaced all growth projections, becoming a cultural touchstone in Nashville and select other markets nationwide.
In 2006, Paul began attending the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. There he obtained concentrations in Corporate and Intellectual Property Law. While pursuing his degree, Paul held clerkships with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina, Carroll Guido & Groffman, LLP (NY), The Harry Fox Agency, Inc, and The Law Office of Elliot A. Resnik, Esq. (now Shukat Arrow Hafer Weber & Herbsman, LLP)
Paul is licensed in the State of Tennessee, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
